6 days between Korat (Nakhon Ratchasima) and Bangkok β temples, street food, markets and city vibes. Thailand had me from the first minute.
βοΈ The Story
Thailand you got me !!
April 2026 β 6 days between two very different faces of Thailand.
Korat (Nakhon Ratchasima)
Korat was the first stop β and it immediately set the tone. Far from the tourist crowds, this city in the heart of the Isan region feels raw and authentic. Temples with golden spires, tuk-tuks weaving through the streets, locals going about their day. The famous Wat Sala Loi and the historic moat that rings the old town are must-sees.
The food scene here is all about Isan cuisine β spicy, fresh, and incredibly cheap. Grilled meats, som tam papaya salad, sticky rice eaten with your hands. Street stalls everywhere, open late into the night.
Bangkok
From Korat, the train to Bangkok drops you into a completely different world. The city hits you all at once β the scale, the noise, the energy. Temples like Wat Pho and Wat Arun sitting next to glass skyscrapers and rooftop bars. Tuk-tuk rides through traffic that somehow always flows.
The street food in Bangkok is legendary for a reason. Every corner has something worth trying β pad thai, mango sticky rice, fresh coconut water. The floating markets and night markets are essential.
Takeaway
Thailand is one of those places that gets under your skin fast. The warmth of the people, the food at every turn, the mix of ancient and modern β it's hard to describe until you're there. Definitely coming back.
